I’m not sure what the typical American family looks like, but it sure doesn’t look like ours. Through birth, marriage, or friendship we’ve formed this amazing bond that draws us together. We live far apart, but when we gather it’s as if we never separated.

We share so much, but it’s our differences that are interesting!

YOUR MOTHER April 15, 2008 at 6:21 am

Jonathan is the newest member of the BEUCHERTS FAMILY -Not beucherts sisters clan- Although we are normally ignored by some of our daughters- we are
still alive. A clan claims a common ancestor -and that is your father and mother. The “TRADITIONAL” is simple it starts with your father and mother who had five kids and now have seven grandkids and maybe one more on the way.

Here is the definition of “clan” from the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary:

1 a: a Celtic group especially in the Scottish Highlands comprising a number of households whose heads claim descent from a common ancestor b: a group of people tracing descent from a common ancestor : family
2: a group united by a common interest or common characteristics

You will note that the term “clan” can be used to describe a group that does NOT share a common ancestor.
