I’m sorry to say, my dog, Yoohoo, is not the smartest dog in the world.
Why else would he decide to stay outdoors during an Arctic blizzard?
While the rest of the family came in from the cold, Yoohoo settled into his new quarters in the front yard. He claims that all you need to make a comfy home in the snow is a stick, and a hole.
Yeah, but the treats are inside.

I think he’s chasing snow balls. Will keep him entertained for hours. Love his name.
Sandra,
I’m glad to know my Chocolate Lab, Ace, isn’t the only crazy dog about cold weather. He loved the snow we had a couple of weeks ago, and wants to be outside as long as he can whenever the temp falls below 40. When he gets tired he comes in and crashes on the couch. He’s 6 now, so all that cold foraging is work, and he needs his nap when he gets done.
Snow can actually be pretty warm under the dog. It acts as an insulator.
