Despite my usual procrastination, somehow I managed to get off the wait list for THE blogging event of the year, BlogHer 2010. Yay! I’m going to New York City, where mommy bloggers and bloggers who are not mommies will party like it’s 1999. Not I, however, and it’s my own damn fault for putting things off till the last minute.
Being new to this conference, which seems to be in a league of its own, I didn’t understand about BlogHer Progressive Parties. By the time I made sense of the party listings, with all its unicorns and cheeseburgers, spots in all the Saturday night parties were all taken. I’ll get to party alright, but not where sequins and paper bag hats are mandatory, and not on Saturday night. Maybe I’ll get lucky, or maybe I’ll be like the Christmas orphan with my face pressed against the window looking in.
While I’m waiting to see if I’ll make it off the party wait lists; here is my proposed BlogHer panel schedule for your amusement (and so I can remember what I planned to do!)

I love Blogher conferences!! I’m not going this year, but I went to the SF one two years ago. I am hoping that, after they’ve been focused on the eastern side of the continent for two years, they will come west once again next year.
Anyway, I’m so jealous! Have a terrific time!!
Annie, Thanks! Sounds like you’re due for a Blogher return! I’m thrilled that for once my summer schedule & the Blogher location coincided to allow me to attend it, after hearing everyone rave about it for so many years!

Good for you! Have a ball!
I’ve yet to make it to ANY conferences. They never seem to be where I am.
I’m also an extreme introvert in many ways (who loves people), so prefer to meet folks on a one to one if possible as I get overwhelmed in group things.
It will be fun to read your take on things.

But the real question is…Where DID you wear your dragon costume?!?

Ha! The dragon costume only comes out for very special occasions, when I can ensure maximum embarrassment for my children.
Dang. I was totally hoping for some Twitter/blog posts about “that lady wearing the dragon costume.” *sigh* There’s always next year…
